(as told by Vernon Work Myers)
I remember a grandmother on my mother’s side. I vaguely remember doing one thing. I was about three years old and I dropped a flower pot on her foot. I also remember being at the funeral. There were two or three men standing around waiting to shovel dirt on her grave. My grandparents lived in Pennsylvania. They had a farm.
ELIZABETH PERKINS BUCHHEIT: We went over to that place and the rain was coming down. It wasn’t a very attractive place. Lois had to drive over there and said that Dan’s folks came from here. Your mother’s dad was a justice.
VERNON WORK MYERS: Briefly. He served as Justice of the Peace for a while. I don’t know if he was elected but he was briefly Justice of the Peace.
